Nick BAKER

Dr Baker received a PhD in the design of linear generators for wave energy from Durham University in 2003. He subsequently designed and built a 30kW low speed linear generator and test rig for the UK’s National Renewable Energy Centre – NaREC – before joining Lancaster University’s Renewable Energy group. After a time in industry, Nick joined the Electrical Power group at Newcastle University in 2011. He is now a Senior Lecturer researching into electrical machines across the renewable, automotive and aerospace disciplines. He is presently working in collaboration with Edinburgh University all electric drives for wave energy devices.
