Simon ROBERTSON

Simon Robertson is a renewable energy expert with over 13 years of industry experience including hydropower, wave, tidal and offshore wind energy. Simon started his career as a project developer for a major European Utility (RWE) and, over 8 years, successfully developed several hydro schemes and was involved in wave and tidal demonstration projects at the European Marine Energy Centre in Orkney and elsewhere. Whilst working at the Carbon Trust (CT) as a Technology Acceleration Manager, Simon managed an £18m grant funding scheme for industry and lead research and development in marine energy. Subsequently, Simon was a Project Coordinator at the Nagasaki Marine Industry Cluster Promotion Association (NAMICPA) in Japan, which involved international coordination of tidal energy and floating offshore wind projects at a newly established test center. He recently took a position as a Research Associate in the Policy and Innovation Group of the University of Edinburgh’s Institute for Energy Systems.
